Outsider character design, senior illustration hands.
I am Daniele Luciani, also known as Dan Lucifer: illustrator, comic artist, character designer and occasional survivor of projects that looked simple until someone opened the brief.
I draw characters because people remember faces better than mission statements.
I work between traditional drawing, digital painting, comics, mascot design and illustrated brand identity. Over the years I have created independent comics, commercial illustrations, cartoon logos, character artwork and publishing projects.
My approach is shaped by comics: character, rhythm, expression, storytelling and attitude. Even when I design a logo or a mascot, I think about what that character says before it speaks.
Today my availability is selective. I focus on projects where illustration can create real identity, not just fill a space with something vaguely charming.
Licensed & Publishing Work
Including a Scooby-Doo! sticker album for PlayPress Publishing under Warner Bros supervision.
Comics & Storytelling
Rascals, personal comics, page rhythm, panels, characters and the kind of storytelling discipline that quietly saves a mascot from becoming a decorative blob.
Games, AI & Digital Products
Founder work with Dustiny Games, visual thinking for NinjaiBot and a practical interest in characters that can live inside websites, products and interfaces.

I am not trying to draw everything for everyone.
The best projects are the ones where a character has a job: representing a brand, giving a product a face, making a digital experience less anonymous, or turning an idea into something people can actually recognize.
If a project only needs a cheap drawing to fill a corner, we can both do better things with our afternoon.
